Inerture - Cookie Policy (closed alpha)
Closed alpha. This policy is in force for the closed alpha. It has not been legally reviewed.
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy describes the cookies and similar identifiers used on the Inerture website at inerture.com, the App Portal and hosted Products at inerture.app (collectively, the Service). It supplements the Privacy Policy.
By using the Service you consent to the cookies and identifiers described below, except where you opt out or disable them as described in this policy.
2. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and browser fingerprinting. In this policy we refer to all of these together as "cookies" unless otherwise specified.
Cookies may be first-party (set by Inerture) or third-party (set by a service provider acting on Inerture's behalf).
3. Categories of cookies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary (cannot be disabled)
These cookies are essential for the Service to function. They do not require your consent and cannot be disabled via this policy.

3.3 Analytics and session recording
We use Umami (self-hosted) for cookieless, aggregate analytics. Umami sets no cookies and stores no identifier on your device. It does not track you across sites. Analytics are processed on Inerture-operated infrastructure in Australia.
HyperDX (self-hosted) records telemetry, errors and session replays on Australian infrastructure. The public website starts optional recording only after cookie-banner consent; its Cookie settings control lets you change that choice. In the closed-alpha apps, recording is disclosed in the alpha notice and is not presented as a separate optional analytics setting.

3.4 Marketing / advertising
We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. If this changes, this policy will be updated and a separate consent mechanism will be provided.
4. Your controls
4.1 Browser controls
You can control cookies via your browser:
- Block all cookies (this will stop the Service working).
- Block third-party cookies only.
- Clear existing cookies.
- Request "Do Not Track" (the Service honours
GPCandSec-GPCsignals where technically feasible, but the Service does not currently honour browser-level DNT headers as there is no common standard).
4.2 Service settings
On the public website, use Cookie settings in the footer to change your optional recording choice. Where offered within the apps, preferences control optional identifiers. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled without disrupting the Service. The closed-alpha recording notice is not a promise of a separate recording opt-out.
4.3 Third-party opt-outs
Umami is self-hosted and cookieless; HyperDX is self-hosted telemetry and session recording. Neither is used for third-party advertising. If you have concerns, contact contact@inerture.com.
5. Cookies in Australian law
The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) treats tracking identifiers as personal information to the extent they can identify an individual. Inerture treats analytics identifiers as personal information for the purpose of this policy.
Australia does not (as at 2026-10-20) require a separate cookie consent banner for domestic-only audiences, although Privacy Act reforms are raising expectations around consent for tracking. If Inerture introduces tracking that requires consent under Applicable Law, a consent mechanism will be added.
For visitors from the European Union and the United Kingdom, cookie consent is required under GDPR/ePrivacy. A consent banner is shown to those visitors at the first visit.
6. Changes to this policy
Inerture may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent version. Material changes take effect 30 days after notice to registered users.
