Cookie Policy

1. About this policy

This policy describes the cookies and similar identifiers used on the Inerture website at inerture.com (the Site), and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

2. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file stored on your device by your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and session recording. We refer to all of these as “cookies” here. Cookies may be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by a provider acting for us).

3. The cookies we use

3.1 Strictly necessary

These are needed for the Site to work and do not require consent. The public Site sets very little by default — essentially just your cookie choice.

3.2 Analytics and session recording — optional, consent required

These only operate after you select “Accept” in the cookie banner.

HyperDX (self-hosted)Usage analytics and a first-party identifier to recognise returning visitorsUp to 12 months
HyperDX session recordingRecords page interactions for debugging and analysis. Form inputs are masked.Up to 30 days

3.3 Marketing / advertising

We do not use marketing or advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other sites. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for separate consent first.

3.4 Cookieless analytics — no cookies used

We also run self-hosted Umami to measure aggregate traffic (visitor counts, approximate country/region, referrer). Umami sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so it is not controlled by the cookie banner and needs no consent. It stores no identifier and cannot identify you — see the Privacy Policy (§2.4) for detail.

4. How to control cookies

5. Cookies and the law

Australian privacy law treats identifiers as personal information where they can identify you, and we treat analytics identifiers accordingly. For visitors from the European Union and United Kingdom, consent is required for non-essential cookies under the GDPR and ePrivacy rules — so a consent banner is shown and analytics and session recording remain off until you opt in.

6. Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time; the “last updated” date above shows the current version. Questions: contact@inerture.com.
